Gene Spencer
Staff Accountant
Gene is passionate about acquiring new skills, and he appreciates the fact that accounting allows him to gain specialized expertise in many areas. He holds his master’s in accounting and brings a knack for research and problem solving to each of his tax and assurance projects. He prepares tax returns for clients that span from small businesses to large multi-state enterprises in Harris specialty industries such as manufacturing, construction, and nonprofit. In addition, Gene supports the Harris audit team by reviewing client financial statements and control systems.
Gene has completely remodeled a 1906 Victorian home and dreams of someday building a house from the ground up. He served in the U.S. Army, for which he was deployed to numerous countries, including Egypt. Gene and his wife Emilee are parents to a young son, Miles, who currently (and adorably) commands most of their time and attention. Gene does find time to rally for his favorite football team, the Washington State Cougars, attending home games with his brother. Gene also enjoys volunteering in the Coeur d’Alene community and also with his church.
