Full Time Staff Accountant
LOCATION : MERIDIAN, TWIN FALLS, KETCHUM & COEUR d'ALENE

Winter & Summer Internship
LOCATION : MERIDIAN
Undergraduates will have an incredible opportunity to work in a growth driven atmosphere on a wide variety of client engagements. Interns have the opportunity to audit and prepare tax returns for a variety of client types. Interns will work directly with seniors, managers, and partners on client engagements and are encouraged to explore the many different client services and technical niche areas that our firm offers.
The winter internship will last the duration of tax season (January through mid April). Interns will typically work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday on an hourly basis during normal business hours. Flexibility in schedule to accommodate your spring class schedule can be arranged. Internships for both tax and audit are available during this timeframe.
The summer internship will last 8 weeks in June and July. Interns will typically work 32 hours per week, Monday through Thursday on an hourly basis. Flexibility in schedule to accommodate your summer class schedule can be arranged. This internship will primarily be audit.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Process client bookkeeping assignments in a timely manner with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Process payroll for multiple clients and execute payroll tax deposits timely.
- Analyze client financials for accurate balances and roll forwards.
- Prepare monthly financial statements.
- Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with all levels of client staff to increase customer satisfaction and to strengthen client relationships.
- Pledge to provide exceptional service to every Harris CPAs client by providing individual attention, responsiveness and commitment to understanding their goals and needs.
- Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards, client confidentiality and personal conduct.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years prior Full Charge Bookkeeping experience
- 1 year of experience processing payroll and payroll tax payments.
- 1-2 years of experience in Quickbooks
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research and audit project management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and develop strong relationships with clients, business partners and co-workers.
- A desire to work in a fast paced, deadline driven, multi-client environment
- Possess strong communications skills: verbal and written.
- Strong computer and technical skills including, Quickbooks, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, intranet and other various accounting software.

- Prepare monthly client billings for the engagements in which you lead. Responsible for realization on assigned clients and can effectively explain variances

- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree in Accounting related field preferred.
- CPA certification is required.

This position will have flexible hours and the ability to work partially from home if desired. Hours will be full time during tax season (January – April) and flexible and open for negotiation in the off-season (with some hours concentrated again around the extension deadlines on 9/15 and 10/15).
